Position Description:

Position Responsibilities:
* Create and develop strong child and parent relationships.
* Foster a learning environment that stimulates child growth & development.
* Assist school-age children with homework during the school year.
* Create fun arts and crafts projects, and activities to encourage social engagement.
* Complete a minimum of 20 hours of ongoing professional development by our center annually.
* Be CPR & First Aid certified provided by our center.
An ideal candidate for this position:
* Minimum of 6 months full-time or one-year part-time experience working with children in a licensed child care center or in an elementary school.
* Applicants must be personable, reliable, and child-oriented.
* Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult staff.
* Strongly recommended: recreation background, arts, and/or musical instrument skills.

The late Idella C.
Barnes, the original founder and owner has educated area children as a public school teacher for over 25 years.
Other family members have supported Center operations for several years also serving as classroom teachers.
The family connection and love for the center continues.
Today we are a family of families that provide childcare and preschool for the working family.
We have encountered many parents that attended the Center as a preschool student over 25 years ago! At that time, the Center was formally owned by the Greene family and was known as the Little Greene Schoolhouse.
