*Swim Instructor & Swim Team Assistant Coach* _*(06/22/2024 to 08/16/2024)*_ We are excited to announce that the Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is looking for a *Seasonal Swim Instructor & Swim Team Assistant Coach*.
(June 23rd 2024 through August 16th 2024) We are is looking for someone who is passionate about swimming and interested in helping to develop and grow our team to be competitive while ensuring a commitment to technique in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

* Swim team practices currently run Monday through Thursday mornings and afternoons.
We have approximately 6-7 meets on weeknights during July and early August.
*Swim Team* The BBYC swim team allows for an opportunity to swim competitively against other local swim teams.
Our instructors will allow each child to develop to the full extent of his/her interest, commitment and ability.
The children practice and compete against swimmers of similar ages.
Children, ages five and up, may try out for the team, however, acceptance to the team is at the discretion of the head swim instructor.
*Swim Lessons* BBYC offers different levels of swim instruction, following American Red Cross standards.
Swim lessons are now part of Small Frys, Sandpiper and the Cannonball Club programs.
New participants will be evaluated and assigned to the appropriate level class by the head swim instructor.
All other students should be placed in the class level that was recommended by the instructor at the end of the previous summer (unless additional swimming classes were taken during the winter).
Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is located on beautiful Long Beach Island (LBI), New Jersey – a vacation destination for all ages and is located at Exit 63 on the Garden State Parkway.
LBI offers many vacation attractions, outstanding restaurants and nightclubs, some of the best beaches in the world and 18 Miles of a barrier island that brings great thermal sea breezes for water sports.
BBYC has a comprehensive Junior Program including sailing, surfing, tennis, swimming, arts and crafts camp, and more.
For our adults, we have a full schedule of social events in the summer, a “B by the Sea” grill/restaurant, as well as many water sports, sailing, tennis and pickleball activities.

*Essential Functions* - Support effective practices for all swim groups - Assist in communicating effectively to parents, staff, and athletes in a positive and professional manner - Keep the fun in swimming while maintaining a challenging learning environment - Assist with creating competitive meet lineups *Qualifications:* - Swim instruction experience required - Competitive Swimming Experience and/or experience as a swim instructor - Ideal candidate will have some coaching experience with various age groups, but we are willing to train the right person - Energetic and able to keep swimmers engaged - Must be dependable and on time - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills - Possess competent knowledge of swimming skills, proper technique, and stroke mechanics and have a willingness to learn team technique models - Able to effectively evaluate and improve swimmer technique - First Aid & CPR and Lifeguard certifications *Compensation will be competitive* and based on experience, hours worked, and proven ability to assist in growing the team.
