JOB
The Adult Education Instructor is responsible for the day-to-day instruction and supervision of adult learners on an as needed basis.
The Instructor will assist adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency; while assisting family members become full partners in the educational development of their children.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1.
Provide instruction to students who need adult basic education or do not have a high school diploma in the areas of math, reading, writing, social studies, and science; Assist students to achieve a passing score on the Hi-Set exam.
2.
Instruct students at multiple academic levels in both traditional and online education formats; Blends digital literacy skills and online resources into instruction; Incorporate workforce preparation, study skills, and career readiness into the curriculum.
3.
Prepare lessons and utilize teaching materials for the purpose of developing the students' ability to acquire skills necessary for daily living and employment in accordance to the program curriculum.
4.
Demonstrated proficiency in technology, databases, Microsoft, and Adobe to communicate effectively with staff, administration, colleagues, prospective and current students, and community; Collect feedback and report back to the Program Manager/Instructor.
5.
Participate in meetings and events in order to align instruction, monitor progress, identify issues, and build curriculum; Network and collaborate with staff, administration, and advisor/case manager to improve effectiveness and increase the success of the students' transition.
6.
Evaluates students' basic skills progress regularly based on the curriculum and tests to meet the needs of the students.
7.
Maintains current records on all students, including but not limited to accurate attendance records and reports absences to the advisor/case manager.
Completes student notes and provides a written summary of class analysis when requested.
8.
Attend a minimum of 8 hours of professional development each year per grant requirements, and as deemed necessary.
9.
Travel to campus and satellite locations as needed.
10.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Master's Degree in Education or closely related field.
2.
Knowledge and certification of a subject area (i.
e.
Math).
3.
Experience with Canvas, Aztek, Burlington English4.
